More visitors

Beautiful countryside just a couple of miles away from home

A bit quiet on the blogging front this week as we have family visitors staying with us for a few days and we wanted to make the most of the time they are here.  They are from the bright city lights of the north so a few days 'down south' has been quite a change for them.

Bless them, knowing that we have been frantically decorating for weeks, they managed to squeeze a tile-cutter into the boot of their car (brilliant visitors or what?!!) and the tiling in the kitchen has come on leaps and bounds.  Not only that, an extra pair of (BIL) hands came in very useful in putting the greenhouse back together.

Sensibly, SIL and I went off shoppping for fabric ;-)

Inbetween all this very helpful work, and some slowing down and chilling out in the form of walking and reading, we have fitted in a little touristy driving around, taking in some of the typical sights and narrow, twisty country lanes.  It's been quite a change for people more used to whizzing around on motorways.

We have been blessed with lovely weather so the Island has been at it's best.  It has been so good for N and I to have an excuse to take time off from the refurb to get out and about ourselves - we've felt like we're on holiday, too.

We've been to Cowes a couple of times to enjoy the spectacle of Cowes Week - posts and photos to follow.
