I think I must be getting used to my day off from the laptop; I didn't miss it at all yesterday. That might have been because we were preparing for a house-full for the evening meal.
OH and I have, between us, 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Yesterday evening, we managed to get all OH's offspring, plus one of mine, in our little flat for dinner. It's the first time we've managed it, and we had a wonderful time. It was a little chaotic, with 9 of us around the table, but we all had such fun and everyone enjoyed themselves, and hopefully felt part of our extended family. Seeing the various children/grandchildren (from 5 to 30) around our dining table, smiling, laughing, chatting, made me feel so happy and content.
We so rarely manage to get this many family members together in one place and it was an evening to remember.
