A beautiful day

It was such a lovely day today.  Bright blue sky, warm(ish) sun, and just a general good feeling in the air.  N spent quite a bit of time in his shed, with the door open, working away on his latest project.

I had a really productive time with the quilt - at last I feel as though progress is being made.  Hopefully it will be bound and finished over the weekend.

This afternoon I finally got around to clearing out the hall cupboard.  It's not big by any stretch of the imagination, but we manage to fit all manner of bits and pieces into it - toolbox, spare towels, washing basket, iron, clothes-airer, brushes, medicine chest, spare light bulbs, old leads - you get the picture :)   Having cleared it out and removed the shelving, I then painted the inside walls with white emulsion to brighten it up.  N said he wasn't sure why I was bothering, but I would have painted it even if we weren't trying to sell the house and it didn't actually take me that long.  All the boxes have been sorted through, a few bits and pieces thrown away, batteries recharged and torches checked (and batteries found to go in them).  It's just one more job that can be ticked off the list.

We have a great view from our lounge window of the sun setting.  Here's the view late this afternoon, about an hour before sunset.  A little later the sky turned a wonderful mauve tinge, but I wasn't quick enough to get a photo.
