Moved

Finally, a moment of calm and peace to sit and blog, albeit briefly.  After several days of not having internet connection we are now online, although broadband seems very intermittant, and sometimes simply nonexistent.  Combined with a very dodgy laptop - rising quickly to the top of the shopping list - and blogging has been something that has just not happened for a few days.

What has happened, in the meantime, is a house move.  We made it, just about in one piece, but it has certainly been quite a stressful business and we are both quite simply exhausted.  The first few days were spent trying to establish some sort of order amidst the confusion of packing cases, bags and furniture.  Only half of the house is carpetted so we are using just those rooms at present.  There's still a huge amount of decorating to do and we are on a bit of a countdown as we can only store the remaining carpet in the warehouse for a few weeks.   There is also the small matter of a wedding very soon!

After a few days of 'headless chicken' syndrome, we came to our senses and decided to just let things go as they are until after the wedding when hopefully we can focus far better on exactly what needs to be done in the house, and we can tackle those jobs in a systematic way.  For now we are content to potter about doing a little bit here and there, whilst still feeling our way with our new home.

Having slowed down we are now able to appreciate the little things that we had missed - the birdsong, the rustle of the leaves in the trees, the robins that perch on the washing line, the beautiful sunsets from the kitchen window, and the sheer pleasure of looking out over our own back garden and visualising the vegetable plot in full growing glory.

There are many plans being made.  It's very exciting.
