I've spent quite a bit of time today working on an engagement card to send to my son and his girlfriend. It's made from scraps - oddments of fabric and wadding, beads and embroidery thread, and the card was left over from mounting photos. I haven't spent a penny on it; the only cost will be the postage. Now I have time to make cards rather than buy them, I think I shall have to work on my calligraphy skills to add that finishing touch.
The weather has returned to being damp and grey, and the foghorn has been going this evening. The forecast is for a return to cold weather, possibly even snow in some places. So much for Spring having arrived!
N decided to revert the spare bedroom back to a sewing room this morning. As and when we get any viewings, it will only take 10 minutes or so to put the bed back again, and this way at least I get somewhere to work, and the desk is freed up for Neal's woodwork. It makes a lot of sense, and gives us the feeling that we're in charge of our little flat again. This evening I have made a list of all the sewing and other projects I have on the go or waiting to start. Mmm ... I didn't realise it was going to be so long! Some serious organisation is needed; perhaps it's just as well the weather is turning wintery again, it'll be a good excuse to sit at the sewing machine for a couple of days!
