Just to say thanks
I was all set to blog about the scooter rally today, but that can now wait until tomorrow. Today I want to say 'thankyou' to everyone who has visited my blog over the past couple of days. I have been gobsmacked, absolutely stunned by the impact of having my blog linked on Rhonda's Down to Earth blog. My page views have doubled in 24 hours, and are still increasing. Lovely readers have left comments!
Why has this made me so ridiculously happy?
I started this blog at the beginning of the year, partly to see if I could fathom out Blogger, and actually create a blog myself (and that is still very much 'work in progress', as those of you who have far more knowledge of bloggy things will have noticed ;-)), and partly as a diary/journal of our daily potterings. For me, it has been interesting looking back to see how our garden has grown, quite literally, and seeing the seasons change. I have enjoyed sitting down most evenings to record our days, taking photos to look back on, and sometimes just jotting down my thoughts. The only person I told was DH - I was far too timid and cautious to let anyone else know.
I have gradually, and somewhat tentatively, ventured out into the big wide blogosphere, and discovered so many other people busy blogging away. It's addictive, isn't it, this blogging lark? I could spend all day reading about lives in other countries, so different from my own. Those differences are interesting, yet maybe there are also similarities than link us together, each of us recording, musing and sharing in our own small ways. I have been amazed by the wealth of wonderful writing I have found, and been awed by beautiful photographs. But mostly I feel a sense of community through the keyboards of so many others around the world.
Have a great day!

Hello
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to pop by after reading your latest post. I was listed with you on Rhonda's blog. I too have been overwhelmed by the number of people visiting. I also am fairly new to the blogging world and have been very tentative. It seems a big leap at times. However, this weekend has been so exciting. My whole family, 3 teens included cannot belive the numbers. Many thanks to Rhonda and to you as well. I am honoured to be in your company. Carla
Hi Carla, it is all a bit overwhelming isn't it? One minute you're just blogging away quietly, the next thing you know, there are lovely bloggers from around the world dropping by!
DeleteBTW, I did try to leave a comment on your blog a couple of days ago, but suspect I pressed the wrong button (nothing new there!)so have had another go this evening. Love your knitting!!
Michelle
Hi from South East Queensland, Australia. I know how you feel with getting a lot of traffic all of a sudden. Rhonda had my brand new blog which I started on the 1st June, in her list of 'Changing Places I Visit' for a month or so and I found all these new people visiting my fledgling blog and thought to myself that they would be sorely disappointed if they expected to read anything exciting there. LOL! It was quite a shock I must say. After almost three months I am getting my head around most of the 'Blogger' quirks but still have a couple of issues with it now and again.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can work out you are in England so it is interesting to read about what others are doing on the other side of the world. We are heading into Spring so I guess you are heading into the colder months now.
Lovely to hear from you, Nanna Chel, I appreciated your help, via the DTE forum, with header issues a little while back. So much of blogging has me mystified, I think I should have called myself 'Grey and Confused' instead! One day I'll work out how to change my time zone.
DeleteYou're right, I'm in England (IW, off the south coast)and the evenings here are just beginning to pull in and temeperatures drop off a little as we head towards autumn. I shall soon be digging out the winter woollies :)
Thanks for your comment.
